This is a tentative list of the trips that will be offered at the 2/26-2/27, 2010 Fundraiser. Please note the following:

• Hunts listed may not be offered at event based on space available.
• Buyers are encouraged to contact donors for additional information before event.
• Successful bidders are required to contact donors within 30 days of purchase.
• This is a fundraiser to raise resources to fund the projects of AK-SCI so please be generous!
• Trips offered at events are as is per the specifics lists such as year of donation, trophies included etc.

More Info: A trip to South Africa is truly an adventure of a lifetime and you could experience the magic. Trevor Shaw and Zulu Nyala Group are providing a 6-day/6-night photo safari for 2 to one of their three luxury game lodges on the Zulu Nyala private game reserve. Donation includes three delicious meals per day, prepared by ethnic chefs with an African flavor.  This was the location of the filming of I Dreamed of Africa starring Kim Basinger. Elephant, rhino, leopard, buffalo, hippo, and a full array of plains game roam freely on the reserve. Cool lounges, wide verandas, sparkling swimming pools and tennis courts make being in camp a relaxing and pleasurable experience. This safari can be upgraded to include additional sight-seeing locations, hunting or fishing. Donation is for 20010 or 2011.

A classic horseback elk hunt in the majestic Rockies is something every hunter aspires to. This bull is alerted at the sight of the hunters’ packstring on the next ridge. The artist Tom Mansanarez is an avid hunter that draws inspiration from his own outdoor experiences.

Lilac-Breasted Roller by John Banovich
The multi-colored plumage of the lilac-breasted roller make it arguably the most beautiful bird you will see when on safari. John Banovich, most famous for his images of African dangerous game, captured its most common pose: perched at the very top of a tree. This canvas giclee is one of only 75.

Sacred Circle by Bev Dolittle
As anyone that has followed art over the last 25 years can tell you, Bev Dolittle limited edition prints are some of the most sought after by collectors. Sacred Circle has been sold out for years. This is the first Dolittle we have had for auction in over 10 years and it should be a great investment.

Utah artist Brent Todd takes great enjoyment from his extensive on-site research for his paintings. Denali forms a dramatic backdrop for these two trophy bulls.  This limited canvas giclee is one of only 100 made.

Malindi Morning – Buffalo by Michael Sieve
On the railroad line south of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe is an historic whistle stop called the Malindi Station. For over 100 years this area has been known for its great buffalo hunting. This canvas giclee by Michael Sieve is a limited edition of only 50.

September Moose by Michael Coleman
This canvas giclee by renowned artist Michael Coleman perfectly captures that time of day when trophy bulls are most likely to be seen. Edition size is limited to 100 pieces.

Eyes of The Forest – Whitetails by Michael Coleman

When you look at this picture, its no surprise that works by artist Michael Sieve have been the most popular at our event for years. The detail he paints into his pictures can only done by someone who has truly been there. This is very limited with only 50 pieces made.

Tsavo Sunset – Lions and Zebras by Ron Van Guilder
A few years ago we sold the last copy of this piece that the publisher had. It was by far one of the most popular art pieces we had ever auctioned off. We received so many comments from people wanting to buy one of these, the publisher found one at a their dealers that was unsold and acquired it for us. This is one of an extremely limited edition of only 15 made.

High Country Mule Deer by Brent R. Todd
Brent Todd first gained fame for his accurate depiction of trophy mule deer in their native habitat. This special picture is a one of a kind. After the original is recreated on canvas using the giclee method, the artist hand paints the antlers depicting an actual buck. The buck in this picture was the largest taken in Colorado in over 20 years, scoring 303 5/8 inches. The successful hunter was a 14 year old Colorado youth.

Kudu – Evening Retreat by Brent R. Todd
Trophy kudu, like this bachelor group, are most active when the sun gets low and casts a warm golden glow on the landscape. Utah artist Brent Todd takes great enjoyment from his extensive on-site research for his paintings. This canvas giclee is an extremely limited edition size of only 10.

Cause for Alarm by Tom Mansanarez
Anyone that has ever pursued trophy mule deer knows that they seem to develop a 6th sense when it comes to threats. The artist Tom Mansanarez is an avid hunter that draws inspiration from his own outdoor experiences. The limited edition canvas giclee is one of only 95.

Heat of the Day – Gemsbok by Ron Van Guilder
When the sun is high overhead, game can be extremely difficult to find. So hunters, like the trophies they pursue, generally seek the shelter of shade. This is an extremely limited edition of only 15.

Ice Age Arts – Mammoth Ivory Scrimshaw
This piece depicts two Bull Moose fighting and is carved in mammoth ivory. The piece is set on a base of moose antler and is polished to a beautiful opalescent sheen. Generously donated by our friends at Ice Age Arts.

This piece has great sentimental value as it was donated from the Louie Brunner estate. Louie aka “Uncle Louie” is one of the charter members of Alaska-SCI and passed away last year. Louie will be remembered as one of the Founding Fathers of this chapter.
